II Samuel 3:1-39
David wax strong as king over Judah, while the kingdom of Ishbosheth of Israel became weaker and divided. Abner, Israel king maker return to the standing prophecy in the land. He leased with the elders of Judah and David to bring the whole of Israel under one establish kingdom of David according to the word of the Lord. It was to be the beginning of a great and mighty fulfillment of the mind of God over the nation.
Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David II Samuel 3:1. What war, what struggle? Can we relate this war in prophetic terms to Israel and them to our individual positioning?
As David reigned over Judah at 30. He equally needed to reign over his six wives of diverse passions. Discuss this domestic angle to the man called David.
Abner the King Maker and Ishbosheth the King of Israel were to disagree over a concubine. Discuss the decadent setting of Israel vis-à-vis with the counsel and the mind of God for the nation at that time.
Make thy league with me, and behold, my hand shall be with thee, to bring about all Israel unto thee. 11 Sam 3:12. Discuss Abner’s crafty and seeming loyalty to David against his open treasury to Ishbosheth. Discuss the graveness of the thrusting of the flesh against the spirit over our soul.
